Anyone who has ever had the pleasure of lending an ear to the music Bart Mendoza has created for lo these many years -with well-loved combos such as Manual Scan, The Shambles or True Stories, among others- knows of his affinity for a good cover song. I've had the distinct delight of witnessing Bart in a live setting performing songs by everyone for the Rutles and Iron Butterfly to UK mod-popsters Squire and the "Spanish Beatles" Los Brincos, and he knocks them out of the park with precision and stunning regularity.

The new "66-68" EP finds Mendoza (with a little help from his friends) taking of a basket of well-loved tunes originally performed for the Stone Poneys (Linda Ronstadt by way of Michael Nesmith), the Turtles, the Zombies and soul man Bobby Hebb. They're '60s classics with that special Bart Mendoza twist: reverend and true to the originals, sure, but anything but carbon copies. It's the sound of a talented singer/songwriter payins tribute to some of the heavenly pop hits that inspired him. Dig in and dig it"

"Thank The Lord For The Night Time" fue uno de los singles extraidos del memorable segundo LP de Neil Diamond, "Just For You". Una olvidada pero verdadera obra maestra de este músico neoyorquino, que fue producida nada más y nada menos que por el tandem Ellie Greenwich y Jeff Barry, y que incluía temazos como "Cherry Cherry", "Solitary Man" (ambas incluidas también en su disco de debut o *You Got To Me", las archiconocidas "Red Red Wine" y "I'm A Believer" o ese "Girl, You'll Be A Woman Soon" que se popularizó gracias a Tarantino y su "Pulp Fiction"

Nadie Te Quiere Ya - Alternate Mix (Fernando Arbex)
Esta canción fue la cara A del tercer single extraido de "Contrabando", tercer LP y obra cumbre de la mejor banda pop española de todos los tiempos, Los Brincos. Con portada obra del gran Ivan Zulueta (más conocido en su faceta cinematografica como director de las recordadas "Arrebato" o "Un, dos, tres, al escondite inglés").y grabado tras la marcha de Junior y del innombrable (J.P.) con producción de Larry Page (conocido por sus trabajos con The Kinks y The Troggs), este álbum es una impresionante colección de grandes canciones, entre las que destaca este "Nadie Te Quiere Ya", unido desde hace años ya a la carrera musical de Bart Mendoza y de Snap!! Records.
